Water sterilization
Clean and hygenically perfect water is considered a precious property in many regions of the world. UV-C disinfection is increasingly obtaining acceptance because of its characteristics, e.g. being enviromental-friendly, free of chemical compounds and particularly economic due low investment and operating cost. The fact that UV-C disinfection does not leave unwanted residual substances or by-products makes it even more popular. UV-C systems used by oxitec assure a safe and controlled disinfection of the water bei, offering a permanent major performance during the entire life span of the UV-lamps.
Besides the disinfection of potable water we also hygienise effluents in sewage cleaning plants before being discharged into the sludge. This could be of interest when planning to use the sludge for agricultural purposes afterwards. Since the sludge is disinfected in a heat process before adding the effluents, the wastewater must be free from bacteria, viruses and other pathogens.
Recent studies concerning UV technology have proved that UV light can also be used to reduce pestizide and other toxic materials found in groundwater. The range of possible water treatment quantities comprehends 0,5 m3/h up to several 1000 m3/h.
